County sheriffs in North Texas have been warning residents through the "Wise Eyes" alert system to be watching for suspicious activity around the numerous natural gas drilling sites.
Equipment theft at gas wells has long been a concern for law enforcement officers and energy producers because that gear and materials aren't cheap.
But a gas field worker in Johnson County experienced a different crime Sunday night.
A man claiming to have car trouble first asked the worker for gas money, but when the worker agreed, the man pulled a gun and demanded the whole wallet.

serve at well sites.

No, please spare us your persecution complex, whoever you are.
But if you want gas well connected crime, just wait. There's any number of unattended, unguarded wellheads and other installations. Any fool with wirecutters and a sledgehammer can cause some serious damage, complete with a monster gas leak.
