The Keller Citizen reports that two EnCana wells in northwest Keller are "producing more water than natural gas." The company wants to install an electric compressor that would "pump water out to increase the flow of gas," the Citizen's story says. Residents who live near the wells spoke at a recent Planning and Zoning Commission hearing to air concerns about noise, safety, pollution, traffic, and lower property values, the Citizen says.
Thank you to the reader who alerted us to this one.

How much noise, poor air will be a result of the drilling at the intersection of Rufe Snow and Bear Creek Parkway? Just south of the Keller Point Rec/Health center?

JW, give B time, she is trying to join the TxSharon team, but you are correct. B is not enough of an left wing radical to make the traveling squad. Ever wonder where TxSharon obtains the funds for her website????
But as B likes to state, she considers us educated fools. At least I was blessed enough to be educated at a State University funded the most part by oil and gas produced off state university lands. So count me in there with the fools.

Greg Hughes, you're right, we forgot to bundle up the Thanksgiving stories and present them in a new post. However, you'll find them all in the comments string on that same post. Again, as I said in a previous post, this blog is only one part of the Star-Telegram's coverage of the Barnett Shale. We've done numerous issues stories of the kind you're talking about. We've pulled many of them into this blog, either in their entirety or as links. As I've said before, the nature of this blog is to focus on news. Most of the news that's occurring now is on the leasing side. That's why this blog is heavy on news about lease offers. Of course, if you want a dose of the drilling issues side, please take a look at our multiple posts from the last two days on the Fort Worth gas drilling ordinance. Thank you for reading us.

Hahaha. B signed a lease and then cries over the pollution it will cause. Good job B but I don't think Sharon will let you play on her team. You only do a little talking and don't wear the upside down American flag on your sleeve. Not radical enough.

Hey, they did post one recent story that shown a little bit of light in the darkness and they posted the news about the Buzzworms art show. If we stay vigilant, things will improve.

B.H., I imagine you won't be posting because this blog, like the S-T is corrupt. For example there was the promise to publish the Thanksgiving stories, http://startelegram.typepad.com/barnett_shale/2007/11/share-your-succ.html
but when the posts were so negative with respect to the drilling etc... no publication. This blog is all "good news" about getting money with the downsides buried.
This region reminds me so very much of the old Soviet Union. Why? Not because of economic theory but because of the concentration of power with control over information. The Pravda-Telegram is so in bed with the gas drilling and the development businesses that you can expect no meaningful discourse on those subjects. Why does their circulation keep falling as the population increases? Because people are looking for real information, not corrupt pandering to special interests.

TXsharon: Keep up your good work, its appreciated.
This is my last post in this blog. I'm sure you
know why, without me going into detail.
The city dwellers don't have a clue on what is
happening or the dangers involved. They are
ignorant of oil and gas drilling. The potential
of a massive disaster and the pollution thats
coming their way. It is enough to scare the crap
out of us who do know.

Remember, after you sign the lease you really have no control over what happens, so you just have to grin and bear it while you take your approximately $40/month prorated over 30 years to the bank.
