How tough is it to find a drilling site in North Arlington?
So tough that Fleet Oil and Gas has signed a contract to buy two apartment complexes on Washington Drive with plans to tear them down and set up a drilling rig if the city approves the required drilling.
Reporter Susan Schrock reports that the two complexes, Madison Creek and Hampton Hills apartments, have 291 units between them
and are among 22 apartment complexes in the city's Lamar-Collins zoning overlay. The city last year approved new zoning in hopes of attracting retail and office developments, as well as high-rise residential complexes.
Ooops.

I have a serious problem. I secured my apartment from Michigan. I signed a year lease with Hampton Hills. I had no idea what type environment it was before we arrived. No one mentioned anything about the property being in the process of a sale for destruction. No one said anything about the type of people that live here. It took me 5000.00 to move my family back to our home state of Texas, which was something we had planned for a long time. I had secured a job with AMR before coming down. I am an EMT. That's right, I work for the same company that handles the 911 EMS calls for the city of Arlington. I cannot afford to move. I have bills to pay and 4 children to take care of. I cannot get repairs made, pest control, or any cooperation from these new owners or the former ones. My apartment was in no shape for anyone to really move in either, of which I have a move in record. So "good riddance"(which is the correct spelling by the way)? I save lives for a living, and get your elderly relatives to their much needed appointments after you dump them in the nursing homes and rarely visit. Last Wed the water boiler blew up. It keeps the hot water for several units including mine. While you were at home enjoying hot water with which to clean your bodies, my family had to take ice cold showers. We didn't get any hot water until just this Mon at 4pm. I didn't ask for this. I just wanted to get my family home so they could have a greater opportunity. The only thing I have heard as far as relocation help is that the oil company offered the former apartment management to give us back our full deposit, which I was going to get anyway due to the condition I received this place in. All I have to say is "Welcome Home Jones Family, Welcome Home." I am very disappointed in my fellow Texans.

this will no doubt add to the homeless
population. But it's like our Mayor
said, he wants to see a "MIX" in our
urban communities. Joke's on us friends.

This will also clean up a high crime area. Maybe they can still be in retail sights after the wells are capped.

This is GREAT NEWS. It actually facilitates the purpose of the overlay.
