The Sierra Club, a leading U.S. environmental organization, is coping with fallout from last week's revelations that it received $26 million in donations from natural gas industry interests from 2007 to 2010, with much of the money coming from "individuals or subsidiaries" associated with Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy, the No. 2 producer in North Texas' Barnett Shale.

It looks like Chesapeake and the drilling industry can buy just about anyone they wish and they know it. The contributions from the industry was not out of the goodness of their hearts.
