U.S. would block Iran from laying mines in Strait of Hormuz, a major crude oil-transport artery

The U.S. Navy would move to stop any Iranian attempt to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz or Persian Gulf--waterways through which enormous volumes of crude oil are transported --the Navy's top Gulf commander said.
