Heckmann Corp. of Pennsylvania, which treats wastewater used in hydraulic fracturing, is buying a closely-held rival, Power Fuels Inc., for $381 million.
The deal highlights the growth of fracking in oil and gas production. Power Fuels is based near the North Dakota oil fields where producers are using fracking to generate a new surge in domestic oil production, The Wall Street Journal reported today.
