Active rigs in the Barnett Shale active rigs fell by four to 35. Tarrant County, which has seen steadily increasing activity recently, and Wise County were the busiest with eight rigs each. Montague had six, followed by Parker, Palo Pinto and Stephens, all with three, according to RigData.
The U.S. rig count dipped by seven this week to 417, near the 13-year low of 413 reached Nov. 9, Baker Hughes says. Rigs seeking crude oil fell a third consecutive week, down four to 1,382, bringing the U.S. rig count to 1,800, down 11.
