Christi Craddick, who was elected to a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission in November, isn't waiting for January to take her spot on the agency that oversees oil and gas production in the state. Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday appointed her to replace Buddy Garcia, who resigned his seat on the commission effective Dec. 7. Craddick's appointment is effective Dec. 17. Not much really changes for Craddick. Her six-year terms was going to begin Jan. 1 anyway. Garcia was appointed by Perry to fill the seat that opened when former commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones resigned to run for state Senate but lost in the Republican primary runoff.
