Texas Railroad Commissioner Buddy Garcia, who was appointed to the position earlier this year by Gov. Rick Perry to fill the seat left open when Elizabeth Ames Jones resigned, said he is stepping down effective Friday. He did not run for election to the seat in November's voting, and the post was won by Christi Craddick. “It has been my privilege to serve the State of Texas for the last 22 years, and an honor words cannot describe to have been given the opportunity to pursue my dream as a public servant," Garcia said in a prepared release from the Railroad Commission today.
