A free showing of the anti-drilling documentary Gasland 2, attended by director Josh Fox, is scheduled for Sept. 28 at Fort Worth's Ridglea Theater. It will be followed by a Q&A panel with Fox, Fort Worth residents and drilling critics Deborah Rogers and Gary Hogan, and former Dish mayor Calvin Tillman. Also at the event will be Steve Lipsky, a Parker County homeowner who appears in the film and has an ongoing legal battle with Range Resources over alleged contamination of a water well on his property. The documentary premiered July 8 on HBO. It is a sequel to Gasland, Fox's 2010 film that earned an Academy Award nomination.
Several groups are hosting the 7 p.m. screening, including Fort Worth Citizens Against Neighborhood Drilling Ordinance, the first organized community group to oppose urban drilling locally in 2005. The address is 6025 Camp Bowie Blvd. Admission is free but donations are welcomed to help offset expenses of the showing.
