Southlake Tavern and 29 Degrees Tavern closed this morning, part of what appears to be a national shutdown of some or all Bennigan's restaurants.
National news sources are reporting Bennigan's closing across the country. The corporate headquarters in Plano has not made an announcement.
A receptionist at 29 Degrees in Fort Worth said, "As of this morning we are closed." At Southlake Tavern, a hostess said, "We are closed and do not know when or whether we will reopen."
The two local "taverns" followed the original Plano Tavern, opened in recent years as the company tried to improve the older Bennigan's format.
