Conspiracy theorists, start your engines. Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins (right) has released fodder for Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorists -- documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The papers, which were tucked away for decades in a DA's office safe, include a transcript of an alleged conversation between Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald and his killer, nightclub owner Jack Ruby. The information makes it appear Oswald shot Kennedy at the request of the Mafia.
Oswald gunned down Kennedy from the sixth floor of a book depository building in downtown Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
Ruby killed Oswald two days later (pictured below) in the underground garage of Dallas police headquarters.
"Every DA to my knowledge had been made aware of the contents of that safe and every DA, until this new administration, decided that it wanted to keep it secret for whatever reason," Watkins said.
Staff Writer Max Baker covered Watkins' press conference in Dallas. Read Max's report here and look for the link to PDF files of the documents.
Meanwhile, everyone seems to have an opinion about whether JFK's death was a conspiracy. What do you think?
