Jerry wasn't involved in this fight, but he became the victim.
Police in the Bronx have arrested a 28-year-old man for stabbing Jerry to death after the man had a row with his wife, who walked out on him. Seems that Brian McCafferty had been out drinking with his buddies and came home drunk, police say.
When wife, Jeanine Tulimero, returned home about 45 minutes after their argument she found Jerry dead.
Who's Jerry you ask? A friend? A lover? No. Jerry was her pet beagle and police say that McCafferty fatally stabbed the loyal pooch, cutting his own hand in the process.
"How could anyone do this to a tiny dog?" said Jane Sadowsky, a downstairs neighbor who heard the fight. "He's a cute and friendly dog."
McCafferty faces several charges in the case. You've got to read the New York Post's account of the demise of Jerry.

Beagles are the most loving, most gentle, most human of all dog breeds. Brian McCafferty should get the electric chair!
