An hour-and-a-half-long chase ended in a powerful crash Monday afternoon in northeast Dallas County, according to reports.
The chase began at about 12:58 p.m. near the intersection of Interstate 30 and Interstate 635 in Mesquite, said a dispatcher for the Dallas County Constables office.
Constables attempted a routine traffic stop on a motorist, but the chase ensued, the dispatcher said.
Assistance was given by a Dallas Police helicopter, Dallas County Sheriff's deputies and Texas Highway Patrol troopers, the dispatcher said.
During the chase, officers learned that the driver was wanted for drug violations, according to nbcdfw.com.
The chase went to downtown Dallas and then north back to I-635, the station reported.
It finally stopped when the car was T-boned by a truck at the intersection of Plano Road and Buckingham Road in Garland.
The car's driver was removed from the wreckage and taken to an area hospital. The driver of the truck got out of the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured.

I BELIEVE THE POLICE CHASING THIS MAN FOR SPEEDING JUST GOES TO PROVE MY EARLIER POINT THAT THEY JUST HAVE A POWER TRIP. SURELY THEY COULD HAVE CAUGHT THIS MAN LATER AFTER HE WAS HOME, AFTER ALL THEY KNEW WHO HE WAS..... AND WHERE HE LIVED. THE CITY IS LUCKY THEY DIDN'T KILL SOMEONE AND HAVE TO PAY OUT MILLIONS TO CATCH THAT SPEEDER. SOMEONE REALLY SCREWED UP THIS TIME. I BET THAT OLE WORN OUT FORD PICK UP WILL COST US PLENTY, PLUS HIS MEDICAL BILLS.

I see. According to John Smith, it was OK if the suspect killed someone, but if the police did it, then it would have been trouble.
How do you deduce they knew who he was and where he lived?
John Smith loves to live among drug dealers. John, why not try to get a legitimate job instead of defending druggies? I deduce you are a druggie yourself.

Where do you see an old worn out Ford pickup truck? You obviously don't know your makes nor models of pickup trucks. And, shouldn't the suspect be charged with domestic terrorism for driving a Toyota?

It could have saved him all the trouble had he just surrendered in the first place. Some people are just pushing their luck.
