They may be teenagers, but Mexican authorities say the 17 youths who escaped Thursday by digging through the wall at a Tijuana detention center are actually cartel hitmen called "narco juniors."
Authorities said they used an iron rod to dig with and then used it to club two guards.
Police launched a helicopter to look for them.
