Woman who enjoyed killing disabled man is indicted for murder

You may recall the story we had earlier this month about the unrepentent Phoenix woman who was arrested for stabbing and dismembering a disabled man who called "a snitch."

She tortured him before killing him, records showed, including hammering a 3-inch nail into his head.

Angela Simpson has now been indicted on a first-degree murder charge. Simpson gave a chilling TV interview in which she said she actually enjoyed killing Terry Neely, who used a wheelchair.

College students found shot to death at forest camp site

Two Virginia Tech students have been found fatally shot at a forest campground that is a popular destination for students from the campus.

The body of David Lee Metzler, 19, was found inside his car, while that of Heidi Lynn Childs, 18, was found outside it. She is the daughter of a Virginia State Trooper, according to reports.

Police say they are worried because of the seemingly random nature of the killings.

Angry nude man takes over school bus filled with students

In what had to be a frightening experience for a busload of teenage students, a naked and angry man hijacked their bus on their afternoon ride in Atlanta.

The man entered the bus by jumping through a window as it was stopped, causing the bus driver to flee to the back of the bus. The nude man then drove a short distance before abandoning the steering wheel and walking to the back. A student tried to take the wheel, but the man began fighting with him and the bus crashed into a wall.

Most of the kids fled the bus and onlookers held the man until police arrived, CNN reported.

Teen mom hid pregnancy then killed newborn, police say

Police in Nevada say that a 19-year-old girl hid her pregnancy and then killed her newborn son. Why?

They said she was afraid that her mother would be angry that he she had gotten pregnant out of wedlock.

The girl has been booked into jail on suspicion of murder charges, police said.

83-year-old man chases alleged drunken driver through 2 states

Frank Canale may be 83 years old but he's a tenacious crime fighter who chased an alleged drunken driver in two states and helped police nab him.

Canale was on his way to a wedding with his daughter when he was rear-ended. He chased the other driver from New York to Connecticut -- all the way to the guy's driveway. He sat there until police arrived.

Source: Body of slain pastor was "staged" in unnatural position

Authorities say that the body of an Anadarko, Okla., pastor was "staged" in an unnatural position by her killer, but haven't released any other details of how she was killed inside her small church in the southwestern Oklahoma city.

The Oklahoman reported that some investigators described the scene as "chilling."

Officials are warning other ministers to take precautions in their places of worship.

The killing of 61-year-old pastor Carolyn Daniels has been described as "horrific," by authorities. Her body was found Sunday in the Christ Holy Sanctified Church.

Police: Bomb-toting teen sought revenge against students, teachers

Officials say that a San Mateo, Calif., teenager arrested at a high school with 10 pipe bombs, a sword and a chain saw was seeking revenge.

Police said that Alex Youshock, 17, actually set off two bombs in an empty hallway before being caught.

He faces six adult charges including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Arrests of 7 hitmen accused of 36 killings doesn't slow murders

The El Paso Times is reporting that seven alleged hit men who are accused in 36 killings in Juarez were captured in the past 10 days by the Mexican army.

The paper reports, however, that the extreme violence in the city continues despite the arrests.

The city recorded 24 more killings on Monday and Tuesday, the Times reported.  Juarez is an incredibly deadly place because of the ongoing drug cartel wars with nearly 250 homicides so far in August and more than 1,360 deaths so far this year.

Robber spray paints face as disguise and dies

A suspect in the robbery of a cell phone store in South Carolina died after spray painting his face to conceal his identity during the holdup, television station WLTX reported.

He developed breathing problems shortly after the robbery and died, the station reported. Another man was taken into custody in the crime, but apparently he had found a safer disguise.

Teacher tackles teen armed with bombs, sword, chainsaw

A high school teacher in San Mateo, Calif., is being called a hero after he tackled a former student who had entered Hillsdale High School armed with 10 pipe bombs, a chainsaw and a sword.

People said he may have prevented a "Columbine-style" massacre on Monday.
