MedStar ambulances have resumed regular lights and sirens on emergency medical calls.
The company made its calls without lights and sirens during the snow storm Thursday and Friday morning to "allow crews to travel at speeds appropriate to current weather conditions."
MedStar, nevertheless, stayed busy -- very busy.
MedStar responded to 365 emergencies medical calls during the wintry mix, a 40 percent increase above the volume of a typical weekday, officials said.
Of those calls, 54 were car wrecks, 34 were falls and three were cardiac arrests, according to MedStar.
The ambulance company serves several cities in Tarrant County including Fort Worth, Haltom City, Burleson and White Settlement.

Keeping the EMS crews safe should be the company's #1 priority. Of course they want to get to their patients as quickly as possible, but when another driver cannot or WILL NOT yeild to the lights and sirens, the only thing the crews can do is show extreme patience and professional driving abilities. All this odd snow has the crews on their toes, yet they see drivers doing the speed limit or above like the snow didn't exist. "Potential Patients" need to slow down and yield to Police!
