"I'm outside."
"I have the apartment number."
"Don't make me do it."
Those are some of the text messages a 21-year-old Denton woman says she and her husband received from a 31-year-old old registered sex offender identified as Jeremy Daniel Wicker, who was arrested Thursday by Denton police on charges of harassment and making terroristic threats.
Reporter Peggy Heinkel-Wolfe of the Denton Record Chronicle reports that the woman's dilemma began a couple weeks ago after she responded to a Craigslist ad seeking a female singer for a Christian band and Wicker contacted her to set up an audition.

Unfortunately scary stories like this are associated with Craigslist all the time. For a safer selling experience, you can check out AmericanListed (www.AmericanListed.com). It's a free, hyper-local, family- friendly, online classified site, where you can sell to neighbors in your community. Postings remain on the site for three months; and associates review all posts before publishing them to filter out inappropriate content. It's a great alternative to other sites that have “adult” content and attract scammers.

Yet a brief look at that site shows some offers that are almost guaranteed to be scams. Buy 3 iPhones get one free for $350? Yeah, uh... SCAM.
