Police in Kansas City, Mo., say that a man slashed the throat of a college dean Tuesday morning in what has been described as an unprovoked attack.
The attack took place in the humanities building at the Metropolitan Community College's Penn Valley campus, police said.
The administrator's injuries are thought to be serious, television station KMBC reported.
The attacker, described as a man in his 20s, was tackled by witnesses and held for police, the station reported.
