The Houston Chronicle reported that a convenience-store owner fatally stabbed a man Sunday night who allegedly shoplifted beer from his store.
The newspaper reported that a 36-year-old man came into the D&Q Mini Mart around 7:30 p.m. and allegedly shoplifted beer. He and the store owner than became involved in an altercation outside the store, the paper quoted Houston Police Department Homicide Division Officer M. Khan as saying.
The store owner allegedly stabbed the man, who then ran about two blocks to a gas station, where he collapsed, the Chronicle reported.
The alleged shoplifter later died at a hospital, the paper reported.
