Some people might consider it just a medieval weapon, but authorities have found a catapult that they said drug smugglers in the state of Sonora were using to launch marijuana across the Arizona-Mexico border.
Border Patrol agents actually observed the men launching the drugs last Friday over the international fence and notified Mexican authorities.
The Mexican officials went to the site and disrupted the use of the roughly 9-foot-tall catapult that was loaded on a trailer towed by an SUV. It was capable of shooting 4.4 pounds of dope at a time, the Associated Press reported.
The smugglers fled before they could be captured, the AP reported.
