At least one member of the Dallas police gang unit will always be on hand this week during the trial of a man accused of fatally shooting Sr. Cpl. Norm Smith in 2009, The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith, 42, was killed while trying to serve a warrant at a drug house in Oak Cliff. His wife, Lt. Regina Smith worked for then-Police Chief David Kunkle at the time, which drew additional attention to the killing.
Charles Patrick Payne faces the death penalty in the trial, which is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Dallas.

It was a no knock warrant. When busting into drug houses I think announcing that you are a cop would be a good idea.

For all I care put this low life in the express lane of 10 items or less in death row.
Murdering is simply horrible, but to kill a cop is going beyond that.
Fry him!
