The defense team for the man arrested in the Tucson shooting rampage has interviewed a Tarrant County woman related to the suspect's mother and is seeking records about any family history of mental illness, the Associated Press reports. Judy Wackt, a cousin to Jared Lee Loughner's mother, told AP she confirmed a history of mental illness in the family. Loughner has pleaded not guilty to 49 charges in the Jan. 8 shooting that killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. He is in a mental health facility after mental health experts determined he has schizophrenia. More details to come.
