A Navy SEAL recognized as a war hero in Afghanistan was given a Labrador retriever to help him heal after he was the only member of his team to survive a fight with the Taliban, Stars and Stripes reports.
But his dog, DASY, was shot by two Huntsville men three years ago.
Last week, according to the Huntsville item, one of the men pleaded guilty to a felony charge of cruelty to animals in connection with the shooting, and another man was convicted on the charge.
The two will be sentenced in February.
Stars and Stripes profiled the Navy SEAL war hero, Marcus Luttrell, who was later awarded the Navy Cross.

Wow, that's just great.

That is not cool at all, there are some lines you just don't cross. Leave servicemen and their dogs alone!
