NORTH RICHLAND HILLS — A woman was killed Tuesday evening when she apparently walked in front of a car on Rufe Snow Drive, police said.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m., Sgt. Ed Wright said. The woman, wearing a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, walked into the street in the 5100 block of Rufe Snow and into the path of a car.
"The driver never saw her," Wright said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not available Tuesday night.
The driver stopped, Wright said. No charges are expected to be filed. — Marty Sabota

I was sitting in the traffic jam there last night for at least 30 minutes looking over wondering what the white sheet covered. I did not think it could be a person since all of the police activity was a good 50 yards away. It made me sad to hear this was a person left all alone in the road.

Susie, I passed the scene coming from the north. The "police activity" was at the intersection blocking oncoming traffic in those lanes. There were officers near the body. Some were photographing for evidence and others were seemingly talking to witnesses.

Like does not belong in the sentence.

This is very tragic and my heart goes out to the woman's family. Anyone frequently traveling on Rufe Snow should notice there are an excessive number of pedestrians crossing this five lane road which creates a dangerous environment. I am not sure where this unfortunate woman crossed, but I do believe the only place should be at designated crosswalks. Many times, I have tries to pull into the left turn lane only to be cutoff by a person standing and waiting to cross the rest of the lanes. Way too dangerous!
