No kidding: In an operation dubbed Rubber Ducky, federal authorities seized more than $6 million from banks in Texas and Maryland, as a result of an investigation into illegal distribution of controlled substances known as "bath salts." Eight men in Pennsylvania were accused of being part of the distribution scheme, according to news media in that state. The Texas Legislature last year added so-called bath salts, which were being sold in convenience stores and head shops, to the list of illegal substances. The move came after reports of people showing up in emergency rooms agitated, violent or psychotic after taking the stimulant, and several deaths were connected to it. Possessing, making or distributing the substance in Texas can result in state jail time, according to a drug defense attorney.
