We all pay the price for drug use in our society.
We have to make it totally unacceptable to use drugs. Our benevolent compassion gives the wrong message. It says that it is okay. We should treat drug users the way we treat child molesters. Stigma is an important tool in a society. It directs behavior for the good of the overall society. Did the deceased have good points, of course. Drug users have good points too. We quickly forget the drama, and Havoc that people caused. We shouldn't.
Want a better society? Demand it!
US Drug users are responsible for the deaths of 55000 people in Mexico in the past 4 years. The Mexican Government may fall completely because of it. Thousands more innocents are dead,or injured every year here in our hometowns because we have failed to maintain a line of unacceptability.
Tell your drug user friends that drug use is unacceptable. Period. You can have drugs or family, job, food, home etc. you can not have both. The price is too high for everyone.

Wonderwoman: you need an education. And those are prescription pills, are we supposed to stop producing prescriptions? I was unaware that the drug cartels were bringing in loads if prescriptions. I also would like to know where you have received your statistics for your post because I could not find any of that online.
You mam, need to stay off of the drugs yourself and go back to school.
