Arlington police are standing by the officer who was sued for "body slamming" a 15-year-old girl during a disturbance last August.
A cellphone camera captured Officer Dylan Eckstrom lifting the girl and then forcefully putting her on the pavement. The incident went viral on the Internet.
Police officials released a statement Wednesday that supported Eckstrom.
They said "a preliminary review has been completed and concluded that the officer's conduct was consistent with the expectations of the organization and with law enforcement training standards."
"At this time," they added, "no future law enforcement investigative efforts related to this case are anticipated."
The girl's parents earlier this month filed a civil rights lawsuit in federal court against Eckstrom.
