An accused gang member, Patrick Shaughnessy Hatt Jr., 20, faced multiple engaging in organized crime charges, according to court records. Hatt is currently not in jail and his case is being appealed, court records show.

What is new about this story. Man not in jail after convicted in Tarrant County Court for a felony. So what, the legal system is too busy to care about protecting citzens, it's main concern is getting the lawyers more business . You scratch my back I scratch yours.
Look at the Family County in Tarrant County. Perfect example of the court system working the system for more cases for favorite lawyers of the court.

The headline is misleading. Someone who is sentenced is no longer merely "accused," he or she is now convicted.
Words matter. The Star-Telegram headline writers should choose their words carefully. Otherwise, readers are mislead.
