Here are some overnight briefs from Fort Worth Police.
Robbery of a Business
2724 8th Avenue: On Dec. 10, 2012 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers were summoned to Cici’s Pizza in reference to a robbery. A woman told officers that a man entered the business and immediately approached the counter armed with a handgun. The man pointed the handgun at the woman and demanded that she open the cash register and hand him all of the money inside. The woman, in fear for her life, ran to the back of the business to get away from the gunman. He then fled the scene without opening the cash register. There were no reported injuries.
Robbery -- Car Jacking
1200 U.S. 287: On Dec.10, 2012 at approximately 9 a.m. officers were summoned to 1100 Nashville in reference to an attempted car-jacking. Officers met with a woman at the police station. She told officers that at about 8:30 a.m. she exited U.S. 287 at Rosedale and stopped at the red light. Suddenly, a man walked into the street, stood in front of the woman's vehicle and began slapping the hood while yelling at her to get out. He had a handgun and also pointed it at her. She immediately reacted and sped off in the direction of the police station on Nashville where she called 911. There were no reported injuries and the suspect has not been identified.
The Robbery Unit is assigned these cases for follow-up investigations.
