Fort Worth ex-con gets life for killing woman during meth binge
Jurors deliberated a little more than an hour before sentencing Frank Byrd of Fort Worth to the maximum for the Jan. 4, 2012, slaying of Hilary Eaton, a 39-year-old mother of three.
Prosecutors said the shooting resulted from an argument fueled by paranoia and sleepless days on a meth binge.

Shooting victim was Fort Worth mother's second son lost to violence
A man shot to death on Flamingo Road Sunday night has been identified as Dwaine Plummer, 24, who died from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. His mother told a local TV news crew that he was her second son to be shot to death since 2010.

Trial date set for former Kennedale mayor
Former Kennedale Mayor Bryan Lankhorst is scheduled to go on trial July 9 on four counts of offensive or provocative physical contact stemming from complaints made May 17 by sixth-grade girls at an Arlington elementary school where he was substitute teaching.
