FORT WORTH _ A convicted rapist who has been on the run since 2003 was added to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list on Monday and a $5,000 reward was offered for his capture.
DPS officials identified the suspect as Santos Francisco Sanchez, 45, a Texas Syndicate gang member.
Sanchez was convicted in the 1996 sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Fort Worth and was required to report to a halfway house in Hidalgo County after his release from prison in 2003, but he never registered, according to DPS officials.
Sanchez was born in Brown County, but he has primarily lived in the Tarrant County area.
Officials said he has been known to work carpenter jobs.
He is wanted for parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender.
Sanchez is about 5-feet-10, weighs about 205 pounds and his tattoos include: dragon/skulls/devils on his left forearm, a heart on his upper left arm, a peacock on his upper right arm and heart/rose on his right forearm.
