Jacob Evans, accused of murdering his mother and sister in October, was brought to a Parker County courtroom Wednesday.
It was for a hearing over a request by his lawyer to have capital murder charges dropped against him.
District Judge Graham Quisenberry denied the request, but he did OK a different request that bond be set in the case and ordered the teen held in lieu of $750,000.
But also during the hearing, Evans' father testified that although he provided his son money in jail and bought books for him, he would not put up his own assets to bond Evans out of jail.
