A Tarrant County jury deliberated two days, but in the end, Jeremy Hopkins (right) got an 89-year prison sentence for his role in a June 2011 convenience store robbery that led to the death of its co-owner.
According to trial testimony, Hopkins, 31, of Everman, was a lookout while Frederick Jones, his friend and co-defendant shot and killed 66-year-old Azmi Elqutob (shown here with his wife and grandson) at Smokey's Paradise
convenience store East Rosedale Street in Fort Worth.
Prosecutors told the jury that Hopkins gave a loaded weapon to Jones.
