'Most wanted' sex offender, convicted of 1995 crime in Fort Worth, caught at the border

020613 Juan Alfredo GandarillaA 43-year-old man on the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted sex offender list has been arrested in El Paso.

Officials say Juan Alfredo Gandarilla turned himself in Monday to Border Patrol authorities at the Bridge of the Americas in El Paso, telling them he didn't want to be arrested in Mexico, according to The Associated Press.

Authorities described him Wednesday as a high-risk sex offender with a lengthy criminal history that included conviction for molesting a 9-year-old girl in 1995 in Fort Worth.
