Sheriff Tommy Bryant is being very cautious about information on an investigation into what sounds like the torture of man found tied to tree Sunday in Erath County.
Wednesday, Crime Time posted that the man possibly was castrated, according to a report from the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.
Investigators, however, said they didn't want to talk about the case because it's a "fluid situation."
Today, Sheriff Bryant released a brief news release about the case. The sheriff said in a phone message that "We have no other information right now that we can release."
But here's the news release:
"The Erath County Sheriff's Office received a report of an assault. The Sheriff's Office immediately sent an investigator to the location of the assault and found the crime victim to be in need of medical attention. The unnamed victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital and later transferred via air ambulance to a Fort Worth Hospital for advanced care. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and no victim or suspect information will be released at this time. As the investigation unfolds, additional information may be released in the future."
And, when that happens, we'll post an update.
