But, on July 1 her body was found wrapped and bound in tarp on a street corner, about a mile away from home.
Last week, investigators confronted 17-year-old supsect, Tyler Holder. He resisted officers and allegedly wounded one of them as they tried to serve him with a capital murder warrant in the slaying of Alanna. Holder was also wounded, and is recovering at the hospital. His bail set $1 million.
Saginaw residents are grateful for the month-long effort to catch Holder, who lived two doors down from Alanna's family. On Monday, they will serve lunch to some 300 people who were involved in Alanna’s case, including local, state and federal investigators.
But the officers' work is far from done. Last week they entered a new phase of the investigation, trying to determine is Tyler had an accomplice.
