That's what happened Tuesday night at a McDonald's restaurant in south Fort Worth.
The suspect, Jestin Anthony Joseph, 24, of Allen, (shown here) reportedly tried to shoot workers and customers inside the restaurant, but his gun malfunctioned -- that is until he got outside, then it worked fine.
He wen't back inside the restaurant, however, and the gun misfired again.
Sgt. Joe Loughman said the employee distracted the gunman “long enough to give people time to get out” of the south Fort Worth restaurant.
Also, a customer was seen on surveillance video briefly trying to fight the gunman, then searching for his young son, who hid during the confusion.
“I think that father definitely is a hero,” Loughman said.
