MedStar Mobile Healthcare is enrolling residents for the Summer 2014 MedStar Citizen’s Academy.
MedStar is the ambulance service provider for Fort Worth and some other TarrantCounty cities.
Academy participants will get an “interactive behind-the-scenes look” of MedStar’s operations, including 911 dispatch and demonstrations of EMS equipment and procedures, according to a news release.
They will also get to “ride along” on an ambulance and learn basic first aid.
Sessions will be held 6-9 p.m. Wednesday evenings June 4 through July 9.
The academy is free, but space is limited. Participants must be at least 18 years old and live or work in the MedStar service area.
Application Deadline: May 16. Visit the MedStar website to sign up, or to get more information.
