Earlier this week, the Fort Worth Police Officers' Awards Foundation held its VIP dinner to honor some of the department's top officers.
Here's a press release on the event from Fort Worth police:
FORT WORTH POLICE OFFICERS’ AWARDS FOUNDATION
SUPPORTING THOSE WHO SERVE US SINCE 1981
Recognizing excellence on the part of Fort Worth Police Officers is a tradition supported by the entire community.
In 1952 a group that later became the Texas Safety Association first honored outstanding achievement on the part of officers throughout the department.
The Fort Worth Police Officers’ Award Foundation is proud to be responsible for continuing this legacy and gratefully acknowledges the numerous companies and individuals who help make this memorable event possible year after year.
The Fort Worth Police Officers’ Award Foundation recognized the following officers at a special VIP dinner Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
Central Northwest Command: Officer Andy Morquecho
Southeast Command: Officer Marty Stone
Specialized Units: Detective William Paine
Supervisor of the Year: Sergeant Thomas Busker
Commander of the Year: Captain Michael Baldwin
Officer of the Year 2013, Amon G. Carter Award: Officer John Bell.
The Foundation is believed to be one of the only organizations in the country where community leaders have made it a priority to recognize excellence in the police force, applying good business and management principals. Its stated mission is to recognize efficiency, skill and devotion in providing for the public safety of the City and the reduction of crime.
