Robbery victim clubbed, sent to hospital

A man was taken to a hospital by family members after he was struck with a club by someone who tried to take his wallet Monday.Fort Worth police officers were called about 3 a.m. to the 3200 block of Northwest 30th Street. The victim said he was on his front porch when he saw a man walking down the street, the police report said.The victim told police that the suspect called out to him, and the victim walked out to meet the suspect, the report said.The suspect struck the victim on the head with a club and attempted to take the victim’s wallet.The suspect has not been found, the report said.

Boy, 11, accused of attempted holdup using toy gun

Police in Ohio have taken an 11-year-old boy into custody after he was accused of using a toy gun to try to rob two boys of their scooters. The father of the intended victims said his boys were scared because they couldn't tell it was a toy gun.

Seems the 11-year-old pointed the gun at them and said he wanted one of the scooters. Then he chased them when they took off, police said.

The pint-sized suspect faces a hearing on Aug. 7.

Calling all cars! Be on the lookout for a fat ninja

When I think of a ninja, guys like Jet Li or Bruce Lee come to mind. You know, finely tuned physical specimens capable of unbelievable martial arts feats.

But deputies in Palm Beach County, Fla., are looking for a ninja more like the one portrayed by the late actor Chris Farley in the 1997 film, "Beverly Hills Ninja." They're looking for a portly guy with a visible pot belly who tried to steal two ATMs while wearing ninja garb.
