It's called a "Blue Alert," and authorities will request it to help find and arrests suspects in the killing of law enforcement officers.
The new system, ordered Monday by Texas Gov. Rick Perry, will work similarly to Amber Alerts for missing children and the Silver Alerts for missing senior citizens. It will provide information about suspects, including vehicle information and license plate numbers and will utilize state highway information signs and broadcast reports.
