Colleyville mother accused of costly juvenile pranks indicted

A Tarrant County grand jury on Wednesday indicted a Colleyville mother on a charge that she led kids in a series of juvenile pranks that left almost $6,000 damage last summer.

Jurors returned the criminal mischief indictment against Tara Mauney, 42, who remained free on $7,500 bail.

If convicted, she could get two years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

The incident several months back included writing graffiti on outside walls and placing raw chicken in a mailbox, among other things.

Colleyville mom accused of leading costly pranks

Tara Mauney, a 41-year-old mother from Colleyville, is accused of leading eight middle school students through a series of juvenile pranks on local homes.

Included are writing graffiti on outside walls and placing raw chicken in a mailbox that caused almost $6,000 worth of damage to one home.

It's all set out inan arrest warrant affidavit for Mauney. She was arrested several days after the incident in July and charged with criminal mischief between $1,500 and $20,000.

Mauney, who is free on $7,500 bail, has declined to comment, other than to say that "the kids have retracted some statements.

Videotaped brawl at Fla. Burger King leads to felony charge

At BK, you can't always have it your way.

A bikini-clad woman is facing a felony charge after a videotaped brawl at a Burger King in Florida went viral on YouTube.

The Associated Press reports that the woman, identified as Kimesa Smith, 31, from Montgomery, Alabama, is seen in the video hitting employees and even jumping on the counter to hit someone with a large container.

One of the restaurant's employees told police that the fight started when Smith complained about her order.

Smith was initially charged with misdemeanor battery but Florida authorities added charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and a felony criminal mischief charge.

Police: Man who wrote on the Alamo gets arrested

To quote the late songwriter Jim Croce:

And ... you don't write on the Alamo.

San Antonio police have arrested an Illinois man after authorities witnessed him writing on the northeast wall of the Alamo, the place that has been called the Shrine of Texas Liberty.

According to a police report, Wise wrote the letters “LCC” on some limestone on the wall that is part of the original Long Barracks constructed by missionaries in 1724. It's unclear what "LCC" stands for.

“Defacing the Alamo is like desecrating a grave,” Alamo Director David Stewart said.

The man, Stephen Henry Wise, 44, of Evanston, is facing criminal mischief charges.
