Dallas police investigate new embarrassing dash-cam video

It seems that when it rains it pours for the Dallas Police Department.

The department says that another embarrassing dash-cam video is being investigated, less than a week after another video grabbed national headlines.

This one reportedly shows officers possibly taunting a handcuffed suspect as another officer Tasered him. One officer is reportedly telling the suspect to "take it like a man," as he is Tasered.

On Tuesday, Dallas police confirmed that two high-ranking officers have been reassigned and others may face criminal charges in connection with the case, Channel 5 reports.

You may recall the previous embarrassing video in which a Dallas officer detained NFL running back Ryan Moats and his family in a Plano hospital parking lot as they attempted to reach the bedside of Moats' mother-in-law. She died while Moats was being issued a ticket.

The department and the officer has since apologized to Moats and his family.

Video: Officer hit 100 mph before crashing his patrol car

Channel 5 has obtained a dash cam video that shows a Fort Worth police officer was traveling at about 100 mph when he crashed his patrol car last month while responding to an emergency call.

The station reported that officer T. Horne was taken to a hospital, but was not seriously injured when his patrol car overturned in the crash. He was on his way to help another officer who wasn't answering his radio, the station reported, when he lost control at about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 27.

The station reported that the department has no policies that limit how fast an officer can drive while responding to an emergency. Officials will review the crash to see if the officer was at fault, said Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman.

Dash cam video: Iowa man, cop car collide

Dramatic dash-cam footage has been released from an incident a week ago in which a man in Iowa is seen jumping atop police cars responding to a report of a man with a knife, and then getting hit by one of the cars.

Eric Peterson remained in critical condition this week after a police officer in the city of Nevada allegedly struck him with his vehicle, The Associated Press reported.

A report from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation stated that Peterson was moving aggressively toward a police car and trying to enter it when he was struck by a police car driven by Kailen Fitzgerald, an officer with the Nevada police.

Peterson's family has issued a statement denying the officers' version of the events. They say Peterson is mentally ill and was not threatening the officers, according to the AP.

Fitzgerald and the other officer involved, Adam Fischel, have been placed on paid administrative leave pending a DCI investigation.
