Man holds two co-workers at knifepoint over "American Idol"

A hotel guest staying with two co-workers in Jacksonville, Florida allegedly resorted to some extreme measures to tune into his favorite show.

TV news station WJXT reports that Brooklyn, New York man Barran Prakash, 47, wanted his co-workers to change the TV channel so he could watch "American Idol."

Like all friendly arguments that happen over the popular singing talent show, things turned very violent when Prakash grabbed a large butcher knife and held it to one man's throat, according to the report.

One of the co-workers was able to take the knife away when Prakash attacked him. Luckily, no one was reported to be hurt after police took Prakash into custody. 

It's also good to note that the show was not even scheduled to air that night.

I wonder if they have DVRs in the Duval County Jail, where Prakash is being held for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Fort Worth cops called after choir class hits a sour note

Guess you could say this choir class ended on a sour note.

Criticism by a choir’s soprano section that the alto section was sounding “flat” apparently didn’t sit well with one alto member at a north Fort Worth middle school Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Fort Worth police report, the north Fort Worth seventh-grade girl told the sopranos to “just shut the (expletive) up,” dropping an F-bomb that was not music to the ears of her choir teacher.

The teacher told the student to watch her language because he could issue her an infraction for saying the “F word” in class. The student replied, “Write me up...go for it! I’ll even say it again,” then unleashed a triple F-bomb in which she ended the first expletive with “ity.”

As the teacher began to write the girl up, the student continued to speak out, saying “Just get to writing, Mr....” the report states.

The girl was sent to the principal's office with the infraction, at which time the assistant principal alerted a school security initiative officer. The officer, after learning that the teacher wished to press charges, issued the girl a citation for disorderly conduct language.

15 year old stabbed to death for iPod

Whatever the street value of an iPod might be, it's certainly not worth someone's life.

U.S. Marshals said that Hugo Gonzalez, 17, and Brian Johnson, 18, were arrested in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Wednesday in the stabbing death of a 15 year old boy in El Paso after a robbery that went terribly wrong.

According to officials, the two teens stabbed the unidentified boy as they robbed him of a cell phone and an iPod three weeks ago.

Apple's popular music player has sold in the millions since its debut in October 2001.
