Ex-employee goes on shooting rampage: 3 dead, 3 wounded

By the time the gunfire ended Monday at an Albuquerque fiber optics manufacturer, three people were dead and three others were wounded before the gunman took his own life, the Associated Press reported.

Police said a gunman entered the Emcore Corp. facility and opened fire.

The attack appeared to involve the 37-year-old gunman's ex-wife or girlfriend, police said. Police chief Ray Schultz said the gunman was a former employee, the AP reported.

Police believe custodian wanted to shoot his boss

A former Cleburne schools custodian is free on bond, but without a job, after police arrested him Monday on charges that he brought a gun to school.

A tipster told officers that Barry Hardeman, 36, (right) wanted to shoot his boss, police said.

He was toting a loaded 9mm pistol when police stopped him outside the school early Monday morning, according to reports.

The Cleburne Independent school district subsequently fired him.
