Byron Nelson tournament raises $5.15 million for local family charity
The Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas, host of the HP Byron Nelson Championship, reports the 2011 Championship raised $5.15 million for local children and families, “bringing the total raised since the event’s inception to more than $121 million.”
Funds generated by the golf tournament benefit the Salesmanship Club’s Youth and Family Centers, a nonprofit that provides education and mental health services for at-risk children and their families. More than 8,000 people received services through the centers in 2010, the club said.
