Pier 1 Imports hiring more seasonal help this year

Pier 1 Imports expects to hire more seasonal people per store this holiday season than it did last year, says Greg Humenesky, the company’s executive vice president of human resources.

“We typically hire about 10-15 seasonal associates per store throughout the duration of the holiday season” at the company’s 1,100 locations, Humenesky said in an interview. .

“We will certainily exceed the numbers that we brought in last year, based upon our desired service levels we’re trying to achieve in each of the stores,” he said.

The company started hiring seasonal help in September. “We’ll continue hiring through the early part of December,” he said.

Seasonal help can typically work parttime three days per week, generally through January, he said.
