Texas Health Harris Methodist Azle named top hospital
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle, which has served the northwest Tarrant area since 1954, was one of nine Texas hospitals to make the Top 100 U.S. list by Truven Health Analytics. That organization recognized hospitals based on overall performance, "which includes patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability," THR said in a news release Wednesday. “This achievement demonstrates our deep commitment to delivering high-quality health care to the communities we serve,” THR Azle President Bob Ellzey said in the release. “It reflects the high level of teamwork and focus put forth by every employee to continually provide excellence in care.”
Among areas measured are risk-adjusted mortality and complications, readmissions, length of stay, expenses and profitability. Ellzey said that in the past year the hospitals received the Quest Award for High Value Healthcare, the Texas Medical Foundation Silver Award for Quality and was a Joint Commission Top Performer.
“The winners of the 100 Top Hospitals award have driven the national benchmarks higher every year for 20 years,” said Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president at Truven Health Analytics, according to THR's release.
