Silverleaf Resorts cutting 109 jobs in NRH
Silverleaf Resorts, a Dallas-based timeshare operator, will lay off 109 employees at a North Richland Hills office by year’s end, it said in a notice to the Texas Workforce Commission. In an interview, Executive Vice President David Bronsweig said the affected workers are in the company's financial services department, which involves collections. He said Silverleaf decided to outsource that work. Silverleaf will still have about 300 employees at the facility, located at 6321 Boulevard 26, who work in marketing, research and customer service, Bronsweig said.
Silverleaf said a final date for the action is not yet determined, but will be in either November or December. According to its web site, Silverleaf operates 14 properties around the nation, including five in Texas. It has about 3,300 workers companywide, including about 300 at an Arlington call center, Bronsweig said. It was acquired in 2011 for $94 million by Cerberus Capital Management, a private equity investment firm.
